2022 Cadillac XT5
Introduced in 2015, the Cadillac XT5 is a compact crossover luxury SUV that offers more size and room than its subcompact sibling, the XT4. It also brings to its class some of the characteristics associated with the full-size Escalade, condensing luxury into a more manageable package. Come check out the characteristics and features of the 2022 model of the XT5 to see whether it's the right car for you.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
If you're in the market for a 2022 XT5, you have your choice of three trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. The Luxury and Premium Luxury models come standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, upgradeable to 20 inches in the latter. For the Sport, 20-inch 12-spoke alloy wheels are standard, which you can upgrade to Diamond-Cut alloy with Dark Android satin pockets. The Sport trim also features high-gloss black accents on its grille, roof rails, and side windows.
The XT5's dimensions are about standard for its class, measuring 189.6 inches long, 74.9 inches wide (minus mirrors), and 66.1 inches tall.
Engine (Power)
The 2022 XT5 has a standard 2-liter turbocharged I4 dual overhead cam engine with direct injection and variable valve timing, which produces 235 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque. Starting at the Premium Luxury trim level, you can upgrade to a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that's capable of generating 310 horsepower and 271 pounds-feet of torque. The V-6 engine is standard at the Sport level. Both engine types pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
Available in either front- or all-wheel drive at every trim level, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 delivers sufficient acceleration and quickness for everyday driving. It can handle curving, twisting paths with relative comfort and maintains a good grip on the road. Regarding fuel economy, you can expect different levels of performance depending on your drive and engine options. With the standard base engine, a front-wheel-drive XT5 gets 22 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway. The all-wheel-drive model, in contrast, gets 21 mpg and 27 mpg, respectively. With the V-6, you get 19 and 26 on the front-wheel drive, 18 and 26 on the all-wheel.
Interior
The 2022 XT5 has a total passenger volume of 104.5 cubic feet, along with 41.2 inches of legroom up in the front, 39 inches in the back, providing ample room for five people. The cargo volume measures 30 cubic feet behind the second row, expandable to 63 cubic feet with the second row folded down.
In the dash, you get several standard infotainment and connectivity features at every trim level: an 8-inch touch screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot with 3 GB or three months of data, Bluetooth connectivity, built-in Amazon Alexa capability, and SiriusXM Radio. These are connected to an eight-speaker Bose audio system, upgradeable to 14 speakers at the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels.
Safety Features
Similarly, the XT5 provides numerous standard safety features, including a teen driver system, an HD rear vision camera, and park assist, a lane-keep assist system, and two years of OnStar Safety & Security. Starting at the Premium Luxury trim level, you can choose to add available features such as adaptive cruise control, HD surround vision, automatic parking assist, and a heads-up display.
