2022 Cadillac Escalade
Luxury and power come together in the all-new 2022 Cadillac Escalade. This full-size, three-row sport utility vehicle is a commanding presence on the road and likely to impress any driver who values both style and performance. Take a look at how this year's Escalade stacks up on the full-size SUV market.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is available in five trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum. Each comes in either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The Luxury and Premium Luxury trims come standard with 22-inch 14-spoke alloy wheels, while the Premium Luxury Platinum trim has 10-spoke polished alloy wheels. The Sport trim levels feature 22-inch 12-spoke polished alloy wheels.
As a full-size SUV, the 2022 Escalade is a substantial driving machine, standing at 211.9 inches long, 81.1 inches wide, and 76.7 inches tall.
Engine (Power)
With the 2022 Cadillac Escalade, you have two powertrain options. The standard is a 6.2-liter V-8 engine with dynamic fuel management, which produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The alternative option is a 3-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel engine, which generates 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Despite its remarkable size, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade handles impressively and is capable of absorbing the dips and defects of the road. Starting at the Premium Luxury trim level, you get Super Cruise driver-assistance technology as a standard feature. Super Cruise is a kind of adaptive cruise control you can engage on freeways and highways (programmed into the system by GM) to stay centered in the lane, helping to provide a more comfortable and overall superior driving experience.
Given its size, both the rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive models achieve just 14 and 19 miles per gallon in the city and on the highway, respectively. This improves, however, with the Turbo Diesel engine, which gets 21 and 27 miles per gallon in rear-wheel drive and 20 and 26 with four-wheel drive.
Interior
The interior dimensions of the 2022 Cadillac Escalade are vast. With three rows of seating, it comfortably fits seven people. With all of the seats up, you get 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space, which increases to 121 cubic feet with both rows of the rear passenger seats folded down.
There are also numerous infotainment features inside the 2022 Escalade. The in-dash OLED display includes a 7.2-inch diagonal control panel, a 14.2-inch diagonal cluster display, and a 16.9-inch diagonal infotainment screen. A rear-seat entertainment system is also standard, with dual independent 12.6-inch color touch LCD screens mounted into the seats, helping to provide a pleasurable riding experience for your passengers.
Safety Features
In addition to the Super Cruise system mentioned above, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade includes numerous features to ensure safety in and around your vehicle. These include front pedestrian braking, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alerts, rear seat reminders, an HD rear-vision camera and parking assist, vehicle diagnostics, and a teen driver system.
