WHAT DOES CADILLAC SUPER CRUISEâ„¢ DO?
Cadillac Super Cruise™ uses a three-alert system to ensure you’re always paying attention and driving safely from behind the wheel of your new Cadillac sedan. The Driver Attention Camera incorporates head-tracking software to determine when your eyes are on the road or if you need to give driving more focus.
If it reads that you aren’t paying attention, the First Alert will start. During the First Alert, the light bar on your steering wheel will flash green. If you don’t take control of the Cadillac, the Second Alert will begin, meaning the light bar will flash red, your Safety Alert Seat will vibrate, and a beeping sound will begin. The Third Alert is activated when the driver continues ignoring these warnings. During the Third Alert, a voice command will tell you to take control before the Driver Information Center alerts you that you’ve been locked out of Super Cruise™. In this case, you won’t be able to use Super Cruise™ again until you restart the car.
Ultimately, Super Cruise™ can use the Forward Collision System to slow your car to a stop in your lane before calling OnStar® if you don’t comply with the warnings. The brake lights and hazard lights will go on to ensure you’re safe while you wait for contact from an OnStar® advisor.
